4 Thriller Novels To Get You Ready For Halloween

Few things in life can be more annoying than going through a fun book only to find the storyline never pays off. The world-building, the characters, and the overarching plot idea might seem fun. But when the plot does not typically line up and continues after a strong start, it can make reading feel like a chore.

Want to avoid wasting time? Here are some excellent novels with worthwhile storylines.

The Silence of the Lambs

The Thomas Harris novel is a gripping, thrilling, and highly enjoyable reading exercise. You will get to enjoy reading about the infamous Hannibal Lecter, one of the best serial killers ever conceptualized in fiction. This is a story worth reading, and a book that you should have no problem at all enjoying.

While some find serial killer books to be trite, if you enjoy a thriller then you will love this book. And make sure to pick up a copy of Red Dragon, too!

My Lovely Wife

A great read for anyone with a partner they think they could murder someone alongside. This is a story about a couple that enjoys murdering as their hobby. The entire plot is pretty chaotic, but you can see how the couple ends up going from their ‘side hobby’ to some truly insane plots. The entire experience is eerie, engaging, and a whole lot of fun. A book I would heartily recommend to any lovers of thrillers.

My Sister, The Serial Killer

This is a book about Ayoola, the sister of the main character Korede. Ayoola uses her charm and beauty to attract guys but is keen to see how far her devoted brother will go to keep her safe – even when it turns out she isn’t what he thought.

Sharp Objects

A fine read by Gillian Flynn, this is a great suspense book and has been highly regarded by fans of the genre for years. It is a drama-filled experience, following the story of an investigative journalist who returns home on the trace of a murder that was committed. It’s a lot more engaging than the generic plot sounds, and while this idea has been done to death elsewhere Sharp Objects takes an interesting, unique idea on this concept and makes a very intriguing read for anyone.
